Five days that show just how much more a bathroom can be: ISH 2025 in Frankfurt is behind us. We’re grateful for the inspiring discussions, the great interest in our products and all the great input we received from our visitors.

An opportunity for industry experts from around the world to meet

As the world’s leading trade show for HVAC and water, ISH is a place for wholesale, architecture and installation professionals to meet. This made our conversations about innovations, market trends and individual experiences with TOTO products all the more fascinating.

Our idea of Japanese bathroom culture is based on the principle that hygiene, comfort and mindfulness go hand-in-hand. Our products are always designed with the user in mind: Our focus is on people. Products like our bidet toilet, WASHLET, allow us to do more than just show our mindset – people have the opportunity to experience it for themselves.

An experience for all the senses – with new colourways

Our 1,500 m2 exhibition space allowed visitors to explore bathroom inspirations using lighting, sound and green elements – reflecting what our products stand for: sustainability, comfort and timeless design. The focus was on the new colour variations available for our products. People especially liked the new matt white and matt black surfaces, which bring modern elegance to the high quality synonymous with TOTO.

We also had an extensive communication programme in addition to the presentation at our exhibition space. Here are a few examples including interesting links we’d like to share:

Japanese bathrooms: An example for the world

Four of our partner craftsmen On the “Der Höfliche & der [BAU]stein” podcast, four of our partner craftsmen discussed the following: Why is Japan leading many other countries with it comes to bathrooms? Cleanliness is more than just a requirement – it’s considered part of a healthy lifestyle. The use of high-tech toilets, consciously chosen materials and purposeful colours expresses this holistic approach to bathroom design. We’d like to extend this mindset with each of our products – in Europe as well. Have a listen:

Together with other industry experts, he discussed how the concept of hygiene has changed – and what role modern technologies are playing in people’s everyday lives. This conversation reinforced that hygiene involves far more than just cleanliness: It’s about health, well-being and trust. Stream the panel discussion here

Comparing bathrooms around the world: TOTO in our expert panel

The panel discussion “Comparing bathrooms around the world” featuring Nobuaki Ichige was a very important event for us. He joined three experts from various countries to explore the cultural differences, design trends and technological developments in bathrooms around the world. A look at Japan’s bathroom culture was especially interesting. It is considered a model for the entire world for its highest standards of hygiene and consistent focus on the user. Our WASHLET technology was named as an example of how Japanese innovations can set global standards. Watch the full discussion here.

From Japan to Germany: Experiencing TOTO first hand

Our collaboration with Hiro from Einfach Japanisch was another special element. Hiro invited his followers to ISH, all of whom are Japan enthusiasts. But many didn’t realize that TOTO is also present in Europe. Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to experience our products in person in Frankfurt. It was an impressive sign of how well the TOTO brand connects people beyond borders.
