WASHLET® owners know how great it feels to use the warm water cleansing feature. It’s necessary to descale WASHLET® regularly to keep it working perfectly over the long term – just like your coffeemaker. We’ll explain how this works.

Why do I need to descale WASHLET®?

WASHLET® has a variety of finely detailed spray types and offers different levels of water pressure. These work perfectly well, even over the long term – as long as the water is soft enough.

But that’s not always the case. Water hardness levels in the UK vary greatly depending on the region. Take a look at the map to see which regions have especially hard water.

This is something to consider when it comes to WASHLET®, but no need to worry. It’s necessary to descale WASHLET® from time to time to keep it working perfectly. The good news: It’s easy to do, and you can do it yourself. It will just become part of your regular cleaning routine.

How do I descale WASHLET®?

All TOTO WASHLET® have an automatic descaling mode and will prompt you when it’s time for descaling. It’s also possible to do this manually, allowing everyone to descale as often as they’d like. WASHLET® descaling mode

Automatic descaling is a convenient maintenance feature that users can perform themselves. Simply use the included funnel to pour the descaler into WASHLET® and use the remote control to start descaling – WASHLET® does the rest. It only takes about an hour. During this time, you can still use WASHLET like a regular toilet, just without the warm water spray.

For manual descaling, simply remove the spray nozzle from the wand and place it in the descaler.

It’s not necessary to buy any special descaling products from the manufacturer – you can buy the recommended products at your local drugstore. The automatic descaling mode and manual descaling steps are really easy to do yourself. There’s no need to contact a technician.
