The general hospital is gradually opening its new main facility, located in Darmstadt’s city centre. Featuring the main entrance, emergency room and a number of departments and wards, this main building will be the new heart of the hospital.

The bathrooms in 53 hospital rooms are equipped with the TOTO RP toilet.

A recent study conducted by hygiene expert Prof. Dr. Klaus Dieter Zastrow compared conventional ceramic toilets to the two rimless RP and SP toilets from TOTO. The expert concluded that “rimless toilets with the circulating TORNADO FLUSH greatly helped to control the risk of infections in bathrooms”. In his opinion, TOTO toilets make a major contribution to improving standards of hygiene in hospitals.
