World-Class Toilets for World-Class Events.
Long summer events, warm temperatures, lots of people and sophisticated hospitality – at major sporting events, places that are rarely the centre of attention make all the difference when it comes to the guest experience. The BMW International Open, one of Germany’s most important professional golf tournaments, and the FEI World Championships Aachen, the highlight of international equestrian sports, both featured portable VIP sanitary units with TOTO bidet toilets. They bring comfort, hygiene and exclusive bathroom culture to unexpected places.
Major international events do a great deal to make their guests feel comfortable and welcome – like a warm, attentive reception, first-class catering, well-organised grounds and intentionally designed lounge areas. Eventually, every event leads to a place that rarely takes centre stage. At the same time, it reveals so much about an event’s commitment to and understanding of quality.
Temporary Portable Toilets
At the BMW International Open and FEI World Championships Aachen, this moment became a surprisingly delightful part of the guest experience. The small, portable VIP sanitation units featured luxurious furnishings, a bright atmosphere, pleasant lighting as well as TOTO WASHLET, toilets, washbasins and urinals – all of which aligned beautifully with this exclusive nature of the event. This quality is especially relevant at major events. Guests spend many hours on the grounds, moving between sports, VIP and meeting areas. They expect a consistent and comfortable overall experience. The toilet is one detail that continues the professional standards of the event – a place where guests hardly expect it.
When Infrastructure Becomes Hospitality
With TOTO WASHLET, people can instantly experience first-hand how mobile infrastructure can become an elevated hospitality moment. Long considered a luxury amenity in private bathrooms or hotels, TOTO WASHLET proves to be effective in portable VIP toilets – even in the most challenging conditions. Offering fresh, warm water cleansing, individual settings and high-quality ceramic that keeps its shine despite heavy use, TOTO WASHLET provides a level of comfort that many guests find both surprising and refreshing. For decades, TOTO has been synonymous with hygiene, comfort and ease of use – attributes all connected to Japanese-inspired bathroom culture. This quality has a special impact in portable toilets. Some guests may even be encountering this type of hygiene for the first time. Others are familiar with WASHLET from stays in upscale hotels, international travel, or private homes. In either case, this experience is a positive memory – a refreshing, calm moment in an unexpected
place.
Anja Giersiepen, Senior Manager Marketing at TOTO Europe, emphasises the impact of this approach: “Anyone planning exclusive, high-end events thinks about every last detail when it comes to guest comfort. WASHLET brings hygiene, wellbeing, and Japanese-inspired bathroom culture to the VIP mobile sanitation units, making them an important part of the guest experience.”
Bathroom Expertise for Temporary Spaces
Henning Senger, owner of Senger Gebäudetechnik GmbH & Co. KG, developed the concept for the VIP sanitary containers. He noticed that many exclusive events invested a great deal in tents, stages, lighting, food and service. The idea was to design portable toilets that would match the sophistication level of the rest of the event. What initially started as a special solution for individual events has since become an entire division. The focus is on bringing together technical experience, product quality and good instincts for guest experiences. Sanitation, heating and air conditioning expertise combine to create each temporary portable solution. They need to be available quickly and function reliably during frequent use while creating an atmosphere that reflects the high standards of each event. Henning Senger feels that TOTO WASHLET should be part of every luxury container solution. “We want guests to be surprised and delighted when they go to the toilet. Our containers are more than just clean and functional – they convey a sense of style, comfort and appreciation,” Senger continues.
