Forces waste to slide down

CEFIONTECT is an ultra-smooth ceramic glaze that coats the toilet bowl. Its microscopic surface ridges are far smaller than waste particles, leaving no place for waste to gain a foothold. The CEFIONTECT glaze is especially durable, keeping the ceramic surface clean and beautiful for years to come.

Conventional ceramic may appear perfectly smooth to the eyes, but has gaps where waste, mould and bacteria hide. At just one millionth of a millimetre, CEFIONTECT’s surface ridges are much tinier than waste particles.

CEFIONTECT is hydrophilic

 

Hydrophilic describes organisms and materials that attract water. CEFIONTECT is hydrophilic. Water spreads easily over the toilet bowl, so waste particles easily wash away.

This shows a microscopic view of a Cefiontect ceramic. The bottom layer forms the base layer. It is about 300 μm high. Above the base layer is a layer of conventional glaze. It is about twice as high as the base layer. The surface of the conventional glaze is rough and has many height differences. The Cefiontect glaze forms the top layer. It is about half the height of the base layer. The Cefiontect glaze sits on the rough surface of the conventional glaze and ensures that the irregularities are evened out. This makes the surface completely smooth.

What makes CEFIONTECT so durable?

 

Layers of glass are fired onto the conventional glaze, making CEFIONTECT extremely durable. Unlike conventional ceramics, it's possible to clean TOTO ceramics with microfibre cloths without any damage.
