A detailed look
The London Hilton on Park Lane has one of the greatest views in the capital overlooking Hyde Park. The hotel launched in 1963, and is famous for its 28th floor sky bar and restaurant whilst Trader Vic's lounge bar is a London institution and home of the Mai Tai cocktail. The hotel is perfect for all types of guests whether families or business. It offers an exceptional range of facilities from fitness centre to spa with a host of dining choices. It is a great place to stay for first time visitors to London as it is within a short distance of so many cultural institutions and entertainment areas.
London Hilton on Park Lane has played host to innumerable high profile and celebrity-studded events, including Muhammad Ali’s 59th birthday, which featured a lifelike cake of the boxing star. Other big names to have passed through its doors include Charlie Chaplin, The Beatles, Dalai Lama, Margaret Thatcher and Tina Turner, to name but a few. Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, a regular guest at London Hilton on Park Lane, was even reported to have written the famous riff from Satisfaction at the hotel.
Designed by American Architect William B Tabler (1914-2004) who designed more than 400 hotels in his career and gave Hilton hotels their trademark contemporary identity. The London Hilton Park Lane is a perfect example of Tabler’s work and is now considered an icon of 1960s design. It has a glamorous lobby which teems with contemporary sculpture and flowers, as well as lots of meeting rooms and banqueting facilities whilst it has plenty to offer individual guests. The design of the hotel is based on a triangle so virtually every room has a view.
The rooms and suites offer a nod to the 60s whilst the bathrooms are up-to-date with marble clad surfaces. TOTO makes it debut at the London Hilton on Park Lane in 2022 with its WASHLET RG Lite, the newest model on the market which is designed with a slimmer modern profile to accommodate a range of interiors.
