A detailed look
Situated in London's Burlington Street, W1, Araki opened in 2014 and soon established itself as one of the premiere Japanese restaurants in London. 2016 it was awarded two stars in the Michelin Guide for the UK and Ireland. Chef Mitsuhiro Araki previously held three Michelin stars for his restaurant in Tokyo, called "Araki".
Wanting a new challenge, he closed this in 2013 and decided to open in London, bringing with him his vision, skills and experience as a Sushi Master to London. The new restaurant venue formed part of a £250 million redevelopment of the combined office and retail space at Burlington Street. Takenaka Corporation designed the interior and features a counter made from 200 -year old cypress wood. The intimate interior has only fifteen seats and offers a set single choice menu, consisting of eleven courses.
TOTO worked with Takenaka Corporation and supplied a WASHLET® GL and a NC toilet for the cloakroom area. The WASHLET® GL provides the highest possible comfort alongside technologically advanced design. Used in conjunction with the NC toilet it boasts many features. The adjustable wand offers oscillating water flow in front and rear wash positions with easy control over water pressure and temperature. The WASHLET® wand self cleans before and after each use. Furthermore, the WASHLET® has a heated seat and a deodoriser which is mounted in the unit and begins purifying the air once you sit down. The NC toilet provides additional hygiene with its triple jet TORNADO FLUSH function, the rimless design and the CEFIONTECT glaze. The stylish naturally curved shape of the toilet-WASHLET®-combination sits well in most bathrooms and its features make for a persistent feeling of freshness.
